Mee Mangkok, Kuching

Akhirnya, berjaya juga kami meluangkan masa untuk datang mencuba mee mangkok yang 'happening' ni.

This boat noodle cost RM1.50 per bowl. Taste a bit sour from of the chili paste, not too spicy, I love it.

I also tried their delicious Soda herbs, cost RM6.50.  The drink consists of soda, laici, lemon grass and mint leaves.

I was surprised to find out that the father of the owner was my ex-colleague,  after work he will come to help making the drinks.  I am so happy for them, the business is good, they created something new in the town, and make many happy tummies too :)

Overall, me and hubby love it.  But the kids not so.  You can ask for no chili noodle but my kids still don't like all the herbs.  Its going to be an issue for us, next time we will get them fed 1st before me and hubby come for a fest here.

Opening hour: 5pm - 8pm

Address: 242, Jalan Datuk Ajibah Abol

Kuching, Malaysia

  1. Heard about this famous bowl. It is rather expensive as the portion is small. And wow. Soda herbs cost RM6.50??

    1. Hi Sharon, ya, boat noodles are new phenomena going on in Msia now; happy we have a great one in Kuching too, no need to go KL or even Thailand to have one.

  3. They say so-so, have to wait a long time? Can request all in one big bowl - kesian workers have to wash so many bowls, waste water only also.

All a gimmick, if you ask me. In Floating Village, Thailand...no choice, in the boat, goyang goyang, easier to handle and serve...without the thumb in the noodles...and theirs very cheap, not the ones here.

Kuching one, what I like - the bowls not chipped...not like the ones I saw in KL. Will harbour germs, those chipped bowls. Pay so much, use mangkuk tak sempurna some more.

    1. Hi suituapui, exactly what i am thinking, why wasting time n enegry to handle so many bowls. But then again, maybe thats what make it interesting.

Same concept like fine dining, serving tiny food on giant fancy plate and paying huge $ on it.
