CMCO Week 2 | Raya

This year indeed a different kind of raya.  Not only that we didn’t go for any visiting, but we received a surprise raya meals from a dear friend of mine.  I am so touched by her warm gestures.  All the lauk she cooked on her own early raya morning. By 10:30am she is already standing outside of my gate.
Ada lemang, ketupat, kelupis, lamb curry, dagunv hitam, kari ayam, ayam masak merah, nasi briyani, dan kek lapis.  Serious banyak.

Makasih, kawan.

This year is supposed to be a double celebration in Sarawak, next week is Gawai.  My sisters are making cakes and cookies, but I don’t have any celebration mood yet. I do miss my parents. If the situation permitted, I might go back to visit them next week. Fingers closed.

On the last day of Ramadan, me and hubby went out to hunt for ramadan food stall in Satok area.  Bazaar Ramadan is a must for us every year.  But no bazaar this year, only small stalls open here and there.  We also went to the Malays kampung behind Satok, but no stall open, maybe they were getting ready for raya celebration the next day.

Kuih and lamb briyani, we got from Satok.

We also stop by at an Ah Yong Ice Kacang, we brought our own bowls and spoons, enjoying the ice ice kacang in our cars.  Thanks hubby for accompany me doing all this little-little crazy things.  We spent a lot of time driving around this week, road are clear, fuel are cheap, why not. haha.

Work wise, I went to the office almost everyday this week, stay for not more than 5 hours each visit.  Workload slowly piling up. Not going to complain much, eventhough sometime it can be a bit overwhelming, rushing back home, bath, then continue with emeeting.  But I am thankful that I am still relevant.

Covid19 situation seems getting better in Sarawak, this week I only see 1 new case (correct me if I am wrong). We can see people dining out, go to malls. And I also went to a mall for the 1st time today.

All because I saw these corelle set on Aeon FB.  No, I didn’t buy any.  The only flowers design they have are on display, the rest are all classic.  And it’s not the design that I’m looking for.  Must have been sold before raya.  No new corelle for me this time.  But I didn’t go back empty handed.  I bought clothes that cost more than the corelle set, without trying!  I hope they all fit me well.  I need to avoid shopping malls, the urge to shop is just too high.

Ohh yesterday I went to have my new car seat cover installed.  I’ve decided not to change car anytime soon, will just put on new accessories for now.

This is where I got the covers, not good service, but since they were open on 1st day of raya, and not many people around, I just want to get it done and over with.

Some of the food in my kitchen this week..

Kangkung belacan. Kangkung from my sister’s garden.

No one’s birthday, but I feel like eating cakes, so I ordered a whole cake, why not.

Colorful Japanese food from JP Mart.

CMCO Week 1

Sarawak starts the cmco on 12th May 2020.  1 week has passed.  We are slowly going back to our daily activities.  Malls are open until 10pm.  No, I haven’t went shopping at Malls yet.  It can wait.  I only go to supermarket, bakery, and more for food tapao.

Since I started going back to office, cooking at home has been reduce at least by 5%. Me and hubby went out tapao a few times,  especially for breakfast and during weekend.

Kuching is now upgraded to yellow zone, after being in red zone for almost 2 months.  Hope we can get to green zone soon.

I also got my roadtax renew,  got a runner service, at a small service fee of RM15.  After seeing the long queue at the post office last week, I don’t dare to get near a post office for the time being.

Here’s some of what we had this week.

Lemang in a cup, and lepat ubi.

I finally found kerang.  These are from Aeon supermarket.

I also made mini cinnamon rolls.

Here’s what we ordered.
Pandan delight, choc crepe, burnt cheese cake.

CMCO Day 1 | Back to the office

We are finally back to work from office, but not on full capacity yet.  So much urgent matter need to settle, there are things that we cannot be done from home yet.  Not enough with 1 pc, I need to switch on my laptop as well.  Make full use of office time to settle as much as I can.  Happy to back to the office, everything went smooth except for 1 small problem with wearing face mask, I can drink and eat as often as I want.  Afraid of removing the face mask.  Well, welcome to the new normal.

At noon, we drive around town area, if not too many people, I wanted to renew my roadtax.  But there are cars everywhere, long queue outside of post office. Scary, I just drive passed the area.  I better find a runner to settle my roadtax.

For dinner we had salmon, bayam, and soup.

I used the slow cooker for the 1st time, cooking lamb curry.  The pot can fit in 2 slides of lamb shoulder, 2 onions, 2 big tomatoes, 2 potatoes, and half carrot, that’s it, just nice.  The only drawback I find so far is that when you hand is wet, a bit difficult to turn the button on.  We will see how it turned out tomorrow.  We are gonna have a big breakfast tomorrow.
Good night xoxo.

Day 55 Movement Restriction Order

We went out for groceries shopping today.  Finally stock up on salmon, boneless chicken tights, lots of tomato paste for our lazy spaghetti night.  Also bought grapes, bayam, and cabbage.

For lunch, we had salmon, chicken soup, and bayam, all newly bought this morning.

For dinner, we had fried boneless chicken, curry gravy for cream overdose, and cabbage.

Going to sleep early tonight, tomorrow gonna be a new day, back to the office.  Need to prepare mask, water bottle, staff name tag, where is that thing?!  Ok, will update again on my 1st day back to office.

Day 54 Movement Restriction Order | Mother's Day

Wake up early for 8am online Sunday Mass.  You can see there are 1.8k viewers on FB online.  That would be 1.8k household online, say there's an average of 4 person in a household, 1.8 x 4 total of 7.2k person joining the virtual Mass.  This figure does not include those access from Youtube.

Our Mother’s Day starts with breakfast consists of toast, and cakes from bakery.

We ordered cakes Secret Recipe, can’t decide which flavour to chose, just buy slices of this and that.
Mostly chocolate flavours.

This is one is special, only for me, durian flavour.

Then we drive over to my in law place, just send the cakes through the gate.
On the way back we stop by at Xi Fu Tang.  Haven’t had any boba tea for more than 2 months. Consider it as a special treat on this special day.

Reach home, we ordered food from Ginza restaurant via Grabfood.
Ramen, salmon mantai, chicken teriyaki, and karage curry.

For dinner, we can’t decide on what to order.  So I just cook simple meal of fried rice, cheese macaroni, and meatballs.

After dinner, I had mango and hubby had chips, while watching show on Netflix.

I feel bad not able to go back home to see my mother on this mother’s day.  When this is over, we are so gonna have a big family gathering of everything belated.  I hope that time will come soon. Really miss my parents and my hometown.

Today PM also make a special announcement that CMCO will be extended until 9 June 2020.  But our office will be open starting 12 May 2020.  How confusing is that.  I am so confused I needed to go on Shoppe to purchase something, anything.  And I plan to go for groceries shopping tomorrow!

Day 53 Movement Restriction Order

Today me and hubby went out for a drive.  We drive up to 7th mile, and make a u-turn back to 3rd mile market.  Didnt stop by at 7th Mile, saja jalan-jalan, see the other side of the town.  At 3rd mile, we tapao breakfast, laksa and buns.  So many people around.  I still don’t dare to go to the wet market.  It’s ok, seafood can wait.

I make a new order for 6 mangoes today, cost RM40.

At 2pm, Postlaju delivered my slow cooker, ordered this from Shopee 4 days ago. That was so fast.

For lunch, I had bubur pedas.

For dinner, we had tauhu sumbat, pork intestine, and kailan with meat balls.

My neighbour gave us this freshly made cai kueh.

Day 52 Movement Restriction Order

We ordered from pizza hut for lunch today.
