Tasik Biru (blue lake), used to be a gold mine here.
Short history:
The gold mining activity here ended in 1921.
In early 1990s, the mining activity started again;
somehow sinkholes began to show up here and there, around Bau town.
After sometime, they decide to shut down the mining for the 2nd time.
Now, we got back our lake, sadly it is still not as beautiful or as blue as it used to be.

ReplyDeleteAku lom pernah pergi tasik biru .Tapi my ex-teacher was one of the survivor nak bas tenggelam ke dalam tasik biru ya dolok.
This place looks really nice. I think I shd stop by sometime when Im in Bau. They are using the same old road, right?

cyril: same old road? when was the time u in Bau? now with some new shortcut, and you can use the mjc-batu kawa road as well.
