Emmett Arts & Crafts #1

Emmett's arts and crafts might not the best in his class, maybe even the worst. He inherited his talent (or lack of it) from both me and his father.

Having said that, I still want to record down his schoolwork for PSV subject Tahun 6.  Since he is studying from home now, I am very much involved in his schoolwork, in pushing him to complete his work on-time.

Eugene's Sketches #1

Eugene ni jarang melukis, kalau dia melukis pun sorok-sorok, hasilnya pun tersangat la comel, perlu guna kanta pembesar untuk menghargai lukisan dia.

Emmett says he is a big fan of his brother's sketches.

So here's my 1st posting on Eugene's sketches, it's a comic btw (according to him).

Ganas la jugak kan? I asked him who is Lenny Face, and he said it's a meme.
hmmm.. I got a lot to catching-up to do.

Blanket 2.0

Emmett outgrew of his blanket that I sew in 2012.

I've decided to make a new one for him.

Using a similar blue cotton fabric, I cut out the angry bird fabric from his old blanket and paste it onto the new blanket.

Emmett loves his new blanket, he called it blanket 2.0, however he said the new blanket is not as soft as his old one.  I said, it will get soft as time goes by 😁

Emmett loves to draw.  He can spend hours on drawing lines and shapes, which most of the time only him can read and tell a story out of his sketchers.

I have always wanted to keep a digital record of his artwork, but I never did until today.  And I hope many more to come..

Throw Pillow cover

Cuti Gawai yang agak panjang ni dimanfaatkan dengan DIY Throw pillow cover.

One 1st day of Gawai, kami celebrate at my parents' place, on 2nd day kami ke kampung belah hubby. 

Hari yang lain, kami duk rehat-rehat kat rumah je.  Sambil tu sempat siapkan toss pillow cover.

Percubaan kali pertama ni membuahkan hasil yang amat muaskan.

Yang brown tu cover asal, yang bunga-bunga cover baru.

Yang ni pulak, cover ke-2 on the 2nd day.

1 hari buat 1 je, sambil santai-santai gitu kan.

Puas hati sangat, lain kali nak buat lagi lah.. Seronot sgt.

Angry Birds blankets

This is an overdue post.

2 weeks after I completed the Angry Birds pillowcases, I sew a pair of these blankets to match with the pillowcases.

I'm planning to get a better material soon to make more pillowcases, and maybe learn to make a bed sheet while I'm on it as well.

Angry Birds pillowcase

I sew our 1st pair of homemade pillowcase.What best to start with other than my sons' favorite characters...Angry Birds.
Actually Eugene requested for a Transformers design, but can't find it here in Kuching,
so we just settle on Emmett's choice than..

These are quite easy to make except the inner fold, which I think a bit challenging for the 1st trail. Nonetheless after some imagination and re-stitches, I managed to get the desired result.
The trick is stitch the inner fold last.

Now I'm working on their blankets with the same design.

Sewing on weekend

Disebabkan cuaca yang begitu panas semenjak 2 menjak ni, maka aktiviti garderning saya tidak dapat dijalankan.

Masa bersembunyi di rumah dimanfaatkan sepenuhnya dengan hobi baru iaitu ... menjahit.

Inilah hasilnya, tukar alas bantal yang dah kurang menarik serta seluar tidur Emmett yang pertama, hasil tangan ibu sendiri... (dengan bangganya).

It took me 3 hours to sew that angry birds pant while watching Life Unexpected back to back. Not bad huh for 1st trail.

Ni nak kena menjejakkan kaki ke kedai kain lagi, stock kain cotton putih dah habis.

Ingatkan nak jahit seluar sekolah Eugene sekali, tapi masih kurang confident, rasa nya kene hantar ke kedai gak la, lagipun takda machine jahit sisi di rumah, camne pun mmg kene hantar tailor gak.

Ermm.. Apa lagi idea yang menarik untuk minggu depan erk?
Nak tukar span baju kurung and..??
Kat mana ada ajar knitting di Kuching, ada sesiapa yang tau tak? Teringin pulak nak belajar.
