Emmett’s Covid19 journey

Day 0: just like any normal Sunday night, he went to bed quite late, passed midnight.

Day 1: Woke up at 7am, took bath and attended his Sunday School class at 8am. Reached home at 10am, having mild headache and fever at 37degree. Took 1 panadol at 11am.  At 4pm, temperature at 37.8 degree, took 2 panadols. At 8pm, did selftest for him, double line shown on 1st try. Immediately did the 2nd test, also double line. So confirmed. He is positive. Took another panadol at 10:30pm, temperature at 37.1.  Lap muka, belakang n ketiak dia dengan towel basah selang 1 jam.

Day 2: took only 1 panadal after breakfast 

Day 3: 36.8 degree

Day 4-7: he is back to his normal self. A bit of coughing but nothing else. Temperature on day 7 is at 36.7 degrees.

Tomorrow he will be out of his home isolation order. Yeay.

Emmett Arts & Crafts #1

Emmett's arts and crafts might not the best in his class, maybe even the worst. He inherited his talent (or lack of it) from both me and his father.

Having said that, I still want to record down his schoolwork for PSV subject Tahun 6.  Since he is studying from home now, I am very much involved in his schoolwork, in pushing him to complete his work on-time.

Emmett's 1st Holy Communion

4 years of Sunday school, and he finally had his 1st Holy Communion ceremony last week.

The sacrament of First Communion took place during the Friday Evening Mass.  Total of 52 children graduated on that day, 26 young girls and 26 young boys.

Congratulations son for another milestone in your journey.

Ants

Our conversation early in the morning while driving him to school.

Emmett: Mom, can I keep ants as pet?
Mummy: Sure. We have plenty at home, you can keep those?
Emmett: Do you like ants?
Mummy: No, I don’t.
Emmett: But why? They are very hardworking.
Mummy: I know, they have good teamwork and very hardworking. But I don’t see any of it benefits us.
Emmett: I am sure they are useful in some way.  Emmm let me think. Ha! They help to move the dead cockroach.
Mummy: haha. You are right, they do have some benefit to us.

Ala, bakul yang biasa digunakan bersama cangkul tu.

Tok sebenarnya sebahagian daripada kerja rumah anak saya dalam darjah empat.

Pecah palak juak pikir apa nama benda tok.

Bidayuh Bau nunggah nya Topang Jolat.

Rasanya sikda nama dalam bahasa english kali, sebab orang putih sik pake benda tok, ahakss.

Ayam Penyet at Rumah Hijau

Semalam kami dinner kat Rumah Hijau.

Eugene: Aaa, I know this place, they sell Ayam Berlipat or something.
Mummy: Bukan Ayam Berlipat. Ayam Penyet lah.
Daddy: Next time you make your own new recipe, Ayam Berlipat, okay.
Hahahaha

Perbualan di dalam kedai..
Me: Brapa harga Ayam Penyet jak, iboh nasi?
Waiter: Sik kamek tauk brapa harga ya.
Hmmm tak tau, tak nak ambik tau, tak nak membantu!
Takpe lah, since Eugene dah buat lawak di luar tadi, mood mak pun masih elok, kita teruskan jer lah.

Another totally unrelated conversations that I heard during my breakfast at 7am this morning in a coffee shop, from two ladies at the next table..
Lady A: Ko tauk, tikus di rumah aku, bra aku digigit nya.
Lady B: Nyaman juak bra ya.
They had a really good laugh about it.
Kalau aku la dalam situasi itu, confirm menggelabah dah, luckily we have our superhero cat at home, Mr. Kitto to the rescue.

SMK G or K

Never knew that choosing a secondary school can be such a headache too.

So, my son was offered to 2 different secondary schools.  We only found out about his acceptance to the 2nd school on Christmas eve, which gave us only few days before the registration to make a decision.  When asked, which school he wanted to attend?  He said whichever, that's because his best buddies will be in either one of the school as well.

We list down the main pro and con for each school, but still we cannot decide, so we just wait until the very last minute to choose.

School G

Pro : nearer, less than 10km from home.

Con : afternoon session.

School K

Pro : morning session, mom and dad’s ex school, 

Con : Far, more than 10km from home (but near to daddy’s office).

Went for the registration day to both schools to listen to the taklimat by the Pengetua.  At the end, after discussion with my son, we decided to go for the little things and also the sentimental value.

Eugene’s last day in SK

Result UPSR sudah diumumkan, bermakna berakhir lah sudah perjalanan sekolah rendah bagi Eugene.  Tahun depan dia akan memulakan babak sekolah menengah pula.

Throughout his 6 years in Primary school, I believe his had gone thru one happy phrase of his life in school.  He never complaint about school days, always the 1st one to wake up and get ready in the morning. Part of it also thanks to his 3 best friends, Anson, Dexter and Felix, I am sure they will cherish their time together.

As for his UPSR result, no he didn't get a straight As.  He got exactly what he deserves, dengan usaha nya yang cukup makan, result pun cukup makan.  

We are happy with his result.

Keep up the good work, son.  A little more efforts, a little less games, I am sure you can go a long way.

Eugene is 12

My boy is 12! sob sob, ok Mummy, don’t get emotional, this post is not about you, it’s about Eugene.

So, on his birthday, Eugene did not wish for any gifts from Mummy, instead he wanted to choose his own breakfast, lunch and dinner locations and menus.  Ok boy, that’s a simple request to fulfill.

Happy Birthday, Eugene. Mummy loves you.

P/s: His ambition (as of the month) is to be a vet by day and a chef by night.

UPSR 2018

Maka berakhirlah sudah episode UPSR 2018.

Rasa nyer zaman sekarang, anak-anak yang menduduki  exam,  parents yang over nervous. Anak cool jer memanjang.

Syukur semuanya berjalan lancar sepanjang 4 hari peperiksaan, sekarang hanya mampu berdoa dan pasrah menunggu keputusan.

This is only the 1st step, you still have a long way to go, my son.  Jangan kecewa sekiranya keputusan tidak seberapa; jangan lah angkuh sekiranya keputusan cemerlang.

P/s: I can’t even remember my own Primary 6 Exam, result pun tak ingat dah.

Emmett is 9

No big celebration on Emmett’s birthday, but we did spend time together, do the things and eat the food of his choice on the day.

Prior to the day, he did request for a Shark or Dinosaur cake.  I ordered a Chocolate cake with shark image on it coz I cannot find a good Dinosaur cake.  Luckily he loved the cake.  As for his present, he requested for a set of Pokemon card, which cost only about a couple of ringgits. Simple anak mak ni, tak banyak songeh.

After school that day. I bought him to Aeon Mall, had his favourite drink, ice coffee blended, and Sugarbun for lunch.

For dinner, we went to his choice of restaurant, which is Chef At Home.  He picked the same restaurant for his birthday last year too.

After dinner and birthday song, we went home.  At home, there’s another surprise gift waiting

for him.  That’s our small celebration for his birthday this year.

Mummy: Emmett, what happened?
Emmett: Eugene is trying to eat me!
Eugene: I didn't do that.
Emmett: You bite my hand.
Eugene: No, I did not.
Emmett: There's your saliva on my hand.
Eugene: Ok, maybe I did.

Mummy: Eugene, how do you rate your happiness in life? 1 the saddest, 10 happiest.
Eugene: I don't know, how can I rate myself?
Mummy: Yes, you can. You know yourself more than others do.
Eugene: Ok then, 21.

Wow, he must be one happy boy; at that time he was holding his phone, if I take away the phone, I'm sure the rating will be negative :D

Fairy Cave, Bau

Mid-term school holiday is coming to an end.

Where did we go during school holiday? Explore the backyard of our very own hometown.

Emmett accidently discover Fairy Cave on Google (he call it Safari).  

He said, ‘Mom, do you know that there’s a cave name Fairy Cave in Sarawak?’

Aduh, terasa sangat bersalah sebab tak bawa dia explore tempat sendiri, bukan apa, in my memories, these cave are not well maintain, and too many mosquitoes, I hate those.

To cut the story short, we managed to show our kids the very famous Fairy Cave in Bau town.

Entrance fee is at RM1 per adult for Malaysian, and RM5 for non-Malaysian.

Dolphin Show at Kyoto Aquarium

Dolphin Show, is the highlight of our visit to Kyoto Aquarium in Nov 2017.

The 25-min show was full of excitement and laughter, even though we didn't know a single word of that they were saying (ok maybe we understand 1-2 words) , but they (the performers and the dolphins) make it so interesting that you feel like you understand the whole things and it makes you want to laugh and even cry at some point. I loved it.

Dolphin show time : 11.30am and 12.30pm

Mummy: Emmett, you have 2 erasers in your pencil-case, right? Take out one of it, you might lost both of them tomorrow.
Emmett: Mum, I never lose my eraser.
Eugene: haha, name 1 time that you didn’t lose your eraser.
Emmett: I never lose them, they just walked away from me!
