Buku teks darjah 2

Dah berjaya ganti buku yang hilang hari tu baru la dapat pinjam buku untuk Tahun 2 pulak.

Total ada 7 buah buku.

Buku kerja pun dah dapat.
Ni nak kena buat kerja balut-membalut, kalau tak balut, jadi sayur la jawap nya.

Dulu saya sendiri yang balut buku sendiri, sekarang kena balut untuk anak pulak, bertuah betul anak-anak sekarang.

Beli ikan di pasar vs supermaket

Saya sebenarnya lebih gemar membeli ikan di pasar basah mahupun di pasar malam berbanding dengan supermarket. Sebab pada pandangan saya ikan-ikan di situ nampak fresh.  Tapi lately saya macam selalu kena 'tipu' oleh peniaga di pasar-pasar ni.

Contohnya petang tadi saya pergi ke pasar MJC,  saya ambil 1 ekor ikan yang harganya Rm16 sekilo.  Masa timbang saya tengok tak sampai 500g pun ikan tu, so agak-agak tak lebih daripada Rm8 la tu dalam hati.

Saya pun tambah lagi dengan 2 ekor ikan bawal kecil, lepas timbang pakcik ikan tu boleh tambah pulak 1 ekor untuk jadikan Rm10 kata nya, saya pun pasrah jer la.

Dah tu lepas letak dalam plastic semua dia cakap total Rm22.  Hehhh.. Ingat aku ni fail matematik ke?!!

Pasrah lagi, bayar jer la, malas nak buat drama dalam hujan renyai-renyai.  Tapi yang pasti saya tak kan beli ikan daripada pakcik tu lagi.  Kalau rajin memang tiap-tiap minggu nak beli ikan di Kpg Goebilt, baru la berbaloi-baloi.

Ni dia ikan-ikan nya.

Oh ya, orang cakap petua nak hilangkan hanyir ikan, rendam lah dalam air bilasan beras.  Kalau ingat saya buat gak, tapi jarang-jarang la.

A deluxe room on the 14th floor of Capitol Hotel, Bukit Bintang, KL.

An extra large double bed, nice but the bed is too soft and springy to our liking.

Pavlova at Alexis, the Gardens

I heard that the Pavlova here are great.

So we give it a try.

Yup, memang sedap, almost similar to the one at Serai.

So who won?  I'll have to say Alexis wins the title, just because it is less sweet as compared to Serai's.

This one is for take away. Yummy.

Digital perm

My hair is getting too long, I thought of cutting it short, then again, I said why not perm it and if I don't like it, I can always cut it later.

So, I went to a salon last Sunday.

I opt for Digital perm..

See all the cables that wired to my hair...help...hot hot hot.

And the result.... tada...

hahaha..how I wish.

But I like my new wavy hair, I think I'm going to keep this hair style for another few months.

The Christmas mood is definitely On babehh...

KL trip Dec 2013 - Day 1

Bermula dgn flight delay selama 1 jam.

Dalam flight seatbelt sign pun on jer memanjang.

Masa landing - bedebup bunyi, isk..scary.

Dah beli taxi tiket kat KLIA (RM74.30) start perjalanan; taxi pulak boleh rosak kat area Dengkil. Haizzz!  Tunggu lagi dalam 40 minutes untuk dapat replacement taxi.

Di tempat kejadian.

Apapun, malam tu kami sempat gak gi tengok movie kat GSC Midvalley.
Tengok cerita Frozen (2013).
Nasib baik la sempat, kalau tak habis merajuk anak-anak, sebab dah janji nak bawa diorang tengok kat KL je, tak payah tengok kat Kuching dulu.

In the end, semua happy, dapat tido nyenyak malam tu.
Thank God, the rest of our journey all ran smoothly, and now we are back to our nest in Kuching ;)

Ohhh, esok nak gi tengok Frozen sekali lagi.weee...

Kayaking at Padawan River

I had an amazing soft adventure doing kayaking at Sarawak Kiri (left) river in Padawan area last week.

I went together with my officemate.

Our stating point was from Kpg Benuk at 10.30am.

Beautiful scenery along the river

We make a quick stop at the waterfall.  This waterfall is truly a hidden treasure.  Since it was raining heavely last night, which make the water level quite high, We can kayak straight to the waterfall location.  This is the 1st I kayak-ed to a waterfall, normally I had to trekked my way to reach one.  Seriously enjoying it.

We had an early lunch at Kpg Danu.  Since we are in the fruit season now,  we had lots of local durian and dabai for our desserts.  Yummmy!

We make a stop to take photos before reaching the end point.

Yippie, we did it!

We reached the end point at Kpg Semedang at around 2.30pm, where heavy rain started to pour.

We kayak-ed for 11km in total.  Along the river you can enjoy the wonderful scenery.  So calming.

The travel agent was great, 3 guides followed us throughout the trip,  they also provide a life jacket (a must wear) and also a waterproof bag (I brought my own which I won't if I knew in advance).

I must say that it was an amazing experience.

Ender's game

Yesterday kami gi tengok Ender's game.

Pheww nasib baik sempat tengok, best tau cerita ni, tapi macam kurang publisiti, mesti dah tenggelam sebab cerita Thor.

Banyak sangat details dalam cerita,  hubby siap cakap nak cari buku nak baca.

Tapi ending ada tergantung sikit, it depends on how you interprete it.

Kalau ada part 2, pasti nak pergi tengok.

The main purpose why we had dinner here at the 1st place was to have this - pulut mangga (Mango Stickey Rice).  Nice, but the pulut is a bit tough, if they use Bario pulut, then it will be superb. Rm15

Pineapple rice - nice but hardly see any pineapple there. Rm13

Tapioca in coconut milk - nice,  but i would prefer it if they use gula apong (palm sugar) instead of the normal white sugar.  Rm5

They are many other desserts available here,  will come back again to try the pulut hitam and other sweet desserts.

SEB family Day

Last saturday we attended SEB's family day at Damai Resort.

The kids were having so much fun.

Look at that, a titanic sink at Santubong sea.  According to a staff here, the ship was there since December 2012.  The ship was supposed to deliver stones to Bintulu.  I dunno what's going to happen to that ship, hope its not going to stuck there forever.

Around noon time, Eugene starts complaining having sore throat.  I gave him some panadol syrup.

The next morning when he woke up, we noticed that his upper lips was a bit swollen, and some itchiness on the ankles and feet.  He bring him to Bibiana Teo' clinic.  Dr. Teo said that's scarlet fever.

After 1 round of antibiotics his fever and the swollen lips were gone.  Now still have slight reddish and itchiness at some parts of his body.

Jonathan - the winner of Apprentice Asia

Last week I had the opportunity of taking photo with Jonathan Allen Yabut, the winner of the 1st Apprentice Asia.

He was in our office, representing Air Asia to discuss something to do with flight arrangement.

I really admire him in the Apprentice show.
Young, humble and intelligent.  He is from Philippines btw.
Harap bukan kampung dia yang kena Typhoon Haiyan tu.

Buku teks pinjaman yang hilang

Apa yang berlaku sekiranya anak anda kehilangan buku teks yang dipinjam dari sekolah?

Memandang ini ialah tahun pertama Eugene meminjam buku, maka kami sebagai ibu bapa pun agak blur dalam menangani perkara-perkara seperti ini.

Kami ni bukan lah jenis yang suka berjumpa dan berborak dengan guru kelas.  Kami cuma akan berjumpa pada hari perjumpaan yang telah ditetapkan oleh pihak sekolah.

Kami tahu bedan cikgu sekarang dah semakin besar (tahu dari social media pun).  So kami pun tak nak la asyik nak gi jumpa cikgu-cikgu.

Tapi kadang-kadang saya rasakan yang sistem penyampaian maklumat dari pihak sekolah kepada ibupada kadang-kadang macam siaran tergendala.

Contohnya, anak saya dah hantar balik buku teks minggu lepas, ada 1 buku dah hilang.  Anak bagitau yang cikgu suruh ganti.  So kita assume ada surat suruh bayar gantirugi akan menyusul.

Pastu Jumaat ni tadi, ada budak yang dah dapat buku teks.  Tanya kat anak, dia cakap dia tak ada sebab tak ganti buku, dia tunjuk surat dari cikgu.

Ni surat dia.

Tak tau la ibubapa lain akan buat macammana, tapi bagi saya, saya terus jumpa cikgu kelas dengan tujuan nak bayar Rm5.80 tu.

Cikgu: Saya tak nak duit, saya nak buku ganti.

Me: Nak ganti?  Nak beli kat mana? (Mana la tau ada kat koperasi sekolah ada)

Cikgu: Kena cari la kat kedai-kedai buku.

Me: oooo (itu je la mampu saya cakap)

Minggu depan dah minggu terakhir sessi persekolahan.  Kena cepat cari buku ni.

Kita pergi ke 3 buah kedai buku di 3 buah shopping centre yang berlainan, nasib baik dapat jumpa kat kedai buku yang ketiga tu.

Perkara diatas dapat dipermudahkan sekiranya:

- Maklumat jelas bahawa buku yang hilang mesti diganti dengan buku.

- Buku teks tidak dijual di sekolah.

Maklumat tersebut boleh diletak kat papan kenyataan sekolah je pun.

Lagi elok sekiranya Koperasi sekolah ada menjual buku teks; tinggi sangat kot angan-angan saya ni.

Macammana dengan sekolah di luar bandar?  Bukan senang nak cari kedai buku di pekan-pekan kecil. Hmmm..

Ini cuma ruahan serta pesanan dan peringatan kepada diri saya sendiri.  Tahun depan kalau buku anak hilang, cepat-cepat la gi beli.  Jangan tunggu sampai hujung tahun, takut nanti stock di pamasaran dah habis.

*nota kaki, zaman tu takda Shopee lagi, ataupun saya yang belum berbeli online lagi.

All Souls' Day 2013

As usual on All souls day we will go visit my brother's grave.

But this year I did my own flower arrangement.

Sebenarnya pagi tu dah plan nak beli yang dah siap disusun, tapi tengok2 bunga yang dah siap disusun macam agak layu.

So kite beli jer bunga batang yang dalam baldi tu dan susun sendiri.

Amat berpuas hati lah dengan hasilnya, bunga lebih padat, lebih segar, ikut citarasa sendiri.  Lain kali nak arrange sendiri gak;  andai masa mengizinkan la kan..

1st time I saw this Instant Kampua Mee.

Only can be found in Sibu, Sarawak.

You just need to add in the Char Siew to make it more umph!

Ok, below is the Kampua Mee that I normally take for my morning breakfast nearby my office area.

This might not be the best kampua in Kuching, but it does give me the energy that I need throughout the morning in the office.

This plate of Kampua cost RM3 only :)
