Fung Ling Restaurant, Lundu

During our trip to Lundu recently, we went to Fung Ling Restaurant for our meal, not once but twice in a day. Hubby been here before during his work trip last year, and he recommended this place.

One signboard says Feng Ling, the other one says Fung Ling. If you understand Chinese, it’s the same meaning, it’s ok.

When we 1st arrived in Lundy, we straight away went there for our late lunch at 3pm.  No other customer was around, only our family.  We had a great 4 dishes meal there.

Stew pork with sawi

Steamed golden pomfret.

Fried chicken and fried squid.

Total cost more than RM90 including 4 drinks and 3 plates of rice.

Then we went again at night for dinner, we ordered another 4 dishes, but this time the food did not taste as good as the lunch meal.

Deep fried pork, butter oats chicken, butter prawn, and sea cucumber soup.

Total cost more than RM70 including 4 drinks and 3 plates of rice.

Overall it is a good place for seafood meals in Lundu, we will definitely be back the next time we come to Lundu.

Btw, it usually takes about 1 and half hour drive to reach Lundu from Kuching.  But now that the pan-borneo is under construction, it took us about 2 hours drive to reach here.

Ocean Beach Resort, Lundu

This year we had our family trip at Ocean Beach Resort Lundu.

Location :
Situated at Teluk Siar Beach along the South China Sea. 15 minutes from Lundu town and Gading National Park is nearby to the resort.

Contact/Tel:
082-452245

The Chalet :
- chalet cost RM250 during weekdays and RM280 during weekdays/public holiday, not including TV.  My dad,  kalau tak tengok TV 1 hari tak sah, so have to pay another RM20 untuk sewa TV
- 2 bed rooms with queen-sized bed (air-con)
- a living room, balcony and a tiny bathroom
- kitchen including complete set of utensils, gas stove and refrigerator
- movable BBQ pit

Kalau nak sewa tilam and bantal extra, cost RM5 per set.
Pantai - air cetek, sesuai untuk budak-budak berenang, lagipun kat sini takda swimming pool. Jangan lupa bawa ubat nyamuk kalau bermalam kat sini, siang takda nyamuk, tapi start kol 7pm nyamuk dah mula menyerang dengan ganas nya.

Meeting room and admin building

Apa-apa pun tempat ni best, my parents pun suka.

Kat pasar Lundu ni susah sikit nak cari makanan yang sedap, buah and seafood pun tak banyak kalau dibanding dengan Sematan, kat Sematan boleh je beli buah honeydew size kecil dengan harga RM1 sebiji, dan banyak ketam and udang fresh at the wet market. Kat sini tak nampak pun, buah pun mahal. Sematan is a 29km away from Lundu town, lain kali je la pegi ke Sematan, malas dah nak drive lagi.

Holiday Chalet, Sematan

Last year, we went to Sematan for our family trip.
We stayed at the Holiday Chalet.

That’s the chalet, with 2 rooms fully air-con, TV in the living room, 1 bathroom with heater and a kitchen with gas stove, fridge and cooking utensils.
This might not be the best resort in Sematan, but having so many kids around, we need a place with swimming pool facility; which is safer compare to the beach, and easier for us to control/monitor the kids as well. And we also need the kitchen facility to cook simple babies' meal. Seems like this is the only option that we have at that moment.
This year, we are planning for our family trip again, and this time, maybe we’ll try Lundu beach, either Pandan or Siar. Lundu is much closer compare to Sematan, still trying to book for suitable chalet. Option include Ocean beach, Siar beach, Palm beach or Holiday chalet again?!
