RMCO | Kemas luar rumah

I took a day off on Monday, supposed to go for All Souls Day Mass, then things got cancelled.
At the same time, kids were at home, schools are still closed.  We are in the redzone once again.

So, buat apa kat rumah? Jum kemas luar rumah.

Pokok jambu di belakang rumah yang berusia lebih 10 tahun dah tumpang ditiup angin kenyang pada petang Isnin yang lepas.

Dah la banyak buahnya, sayang betul.  Pokok tu pulak banyak semut merah, susah jugak la nak clear kan.

Pasu-pasu bunga di depan rumah pun dah perlukan perhatian. Tukar-tukar kedudukan sikit, beri nafas baru.  Baru la ada semangat sikit kan?!

Ok lah, kalau rajin minggu depan kita sambung lagi. Chow.

A year of shopping list

It’s been a year since my last holiday outside of Sarawak.  Our last trip was to Bangkok in Sept 2019.

It’s been a crazy year, I believe everyone feels the same. But life has to go on.  We try to adapt, and we try to find happiness in every little thing that we do.

Travelling is something that I always look forward to. And I normally did most of my shopping whenever I went travelling.  Now that we can’t travel, I did most of my shopping online for other things except for clothes and footwear.

Let see what I bought in this 1 year period:

Clothes, un-countable, too many, whenever I am happy I shop, whenever I am sad I shop. Plus, now that I seldom go to Malls, so everytime I shop, I have the urge to buy more just in case there will be another MCO. Not good.

Sample of what I bought in 1 trip, at 1 shop.

Footwear, a pair of sandals, a walking shoes, a sports shoes, and a heels.  Very good.

Kitchenware, 1 slow-cooker, 1 clay pot, and 1 cast iron pot.

Electrical device: a robot vacuum and mop, 2 hairdryers.

For bedroom, 2 sets of bedsheets.

That’s all for my major spending, not bad ya?  I am reading a lot about becoming Minimalist now, dunno when I can become one.

Proud to say that I didn’t buy any new handbag within this 1 year.  Why? Because Rakuten Global is no more available. Sob sob.

RMCO Week 11

We went back to kampung over the weekend.

The next morning, before we drive back to Kuching, to stop by to have breakfast in Bau town.  We had our usual must have evey time we were in Bau town.

So long we haven’t eaten at Bau kopitiam, since MCO.

Bau town on a rainy morning.
Kolo mee soup

Tomato crispy mee

These are what you should try if you ever come to Bau town.

Here’s what I cooked in my kitchen this week.

Smoked duck, salmon, daun ibu, tomato with egg.

Here’s my box of happiness this week.

My 3rd wireless earphones from the same brand.

All the way from Sibu.

The viral Korean garlic cheese bun, freshly baked by my good neighbour.

Bought this from FB live auction.

And here’s my walking record this week.

Oh ya, our PM just announced yesterday that the RMCO will be extended until 31st Dec 2020.  Ohh well.

Day 45 Movement Restriction Order | Labour Day

Labour Day is lazy day.

I only cook 1 meal today.  Spaghetti bolognese for dinner.

Lunch we had KFC by Foodpanda.

At night I spent about an hour to fix my previous post.  I don't know why many of the photos were missing; they were still in the cloud, and I need to re-insert them.  What a tedious task.

I might need to go out tomorrow.  The last time I went out was last Friday.  So fast 7 days had passed.  I really need to buy some fruit, getting tired of eating papaya.

Our PM made an important announcement this afternoon, allowing most of the economy and government sector to start work this coming Monday, 4th May 2020.  Apparently now is the CMCO phrase.  Sarawak Government has not given their green light yet.

Day 42 Movement Restriction Order

Hubby finally went to a hardware store today.  He asked whether I need anything from the hardware shop.  I told him to buy netting for our windows.  We will do the replacement on our own since we have plenty of time at home.  Some of the old netting were torn by our cats.  It’s a good time to do some home maintenance work during this MCO.

Today we also received the order that we placed online yesterday from Everrise.

For breakfast, we had toast, egg, and beef curry.

For lunch we had mango sticky rice, and hamchipeng, both ordered online.

For dinner, we had spaghetti bolognese, fried chicken, and beef curry.

Day 40 Movement Restriction Order

We joined the 8am live broadcast Sunday Mass today.

We also harvested pineapple #5 from our backyard garden.  It’s not fully ripe yet, but the steam is too long and can no longer hold the fruit.  The fruit is mature enough, can eat half and cook half, we will see.

Today I ordered these chicken feet.  I love this chicken feet dish.  I am the only one eating these, the rest are not chicken feet fans.

For dinner, we had tapioca leaves, pork bone soup and chicken feet.

For supper, we had 2 plates of these keropok lekor.

A little dose of daily happiness today: neighbour gave us her freshly baked wheat bread again. We are going to have something yummy for our breakfast tomorrow.

Day 39 Movement Restriction Order

Today we finally received this pack of face masks from our beloved State Government, distributed by the local council.  We got ours at 3.40pm today.

Today I also noticed that a lot of items on Shopee no longer support free postage to Sarawak, some even does not deliver here anymore. Actually, I started to realize this a few days ago, but today I tested and hubby also said he experienced the same. Maybe the courier service cannot handle the high demand for now.  Sad.

For today’s breakfast, we ordered Laksa, ordered online.

For lunch, we had lamb curry with frozen canai.

For dinner, we had pork bone soup, ngohiang, and cabbage.

We had maggi for supper.

Today I also make Lepat ubi kayu. I have some ubi kayu in my freezer, and the gula kabong that I ordered 9 days ago from Shopee just arrived yesterday.  2 most important ingredients in making Lepat ubi kayu.  I love it, seriously everything I cooked turned out really well this MCO, thank God. Or maybe it just because we have not much choice so everything is tasty.

Day 38 Movement Restriction Order

Our 8-days old baby kittens.

Today, for the 1st time hubby make pancakes for breakfast, and his pancake looks more like a lempeng.  Well, I guess those are pancakes kampung style.

For lunch, I make babi kicap.  My children love this dish.  Been cooking it a lot lately.

For tea break, we had banana cake from my sister, and Japanese sponge cake from my neighbour.

For dinner, we had lamb curry, fried chicken, and cabbage with sweet beans.

For supper, I make cucur pisang.

Total of 5 meals today.  I am afraid that I might not be able to fit into my corporate shirt anymore.

Day 37 Movement Restriction Order

Day 37, PM just announced another extension until 12th May 2020.  I am not sure whether to be happy or to be sad.  In times like this, better not to be too emotionally involved, just go with the flow, pray, and stay safe.

For breakfast today, I make pancakes.

For lunch, we had KFC. Yes, today is payday, let’s order some KFC.  Kids’ choice.

I make cucur pisang again this time for a tea break.  I am out of pisang tanduk, so this time I use pisang montel.  I was divided between making cake or cucur, I picked the foolproof option, buat cucur je la, confirm sedap.

For dinner, we had pork bone soup, ngohiang, mixed veggies: cabbage, broccoli, carrot.

Day 35 Movement Restriction Order

Day 35, for breakfast today,  I make fried noodles with cangkuk manis.  Would be better if I have mee hoon at home, but it’s ok, this Lee Fah noodle would do for now.

For lunch, we ordered from Pizza Hut.

For dinner, I cooked nasi brayani, kids friendly version, fried chicken and lamb curry with lots of carrots and potatoes in the curry, hope those count as veggies.

Fruits, we had papaya and banana today.

A little dose of happiness daily: got these yummy fresh cinnamon rolls from my neighbour.  I really need to learn making bread and buns, falling in love with the taste of fresh buns.  My neighbour has spoiled my tastebuds with these yummy bakes. Haha.

Day 34 Movement Restriction Order

Another Monday, another new week.

I miss grocery shopping, I miss the colorful fruits and veggies at the markets. Sabar lah wahai hati.

For breakfast, we ordered laksa.

For lunch, we had char sio rice and pak lor rice, which were delivered together with our laksa this morning.

For dinner, we had babi kicap and midin belacan again.  Need to finish up the midin, it won’t last long even in the fridge.

Day 32 Movement Restriction Order

Day 32, for breakfast, we had home-cooked overnight lamb curry and frozen canai.

For lunch, I prepared chicken soup for the kids, while I enjoy the leftover lamb curry with rice.

Evening, we had Bbq dinner outside again.  We had midin belacan, pork, sausage and lamb bbq.

At 9pm, I am feeling a bit hungry while watching Netflix.  Make some cucur pisang for supper. Yum yum.
