Ginza Kurando Japanese Restaurant

We had Japanese buffet at Ginza Kurando Japanese Restaurant, Wharney Guang Dong Hotel on our 1st night in Hong Kong.

The food there was so fresh and yummy.

I never really like sashimi before, but the sashimi there was so fresh and sweet.  I had lots of salmon that night.

Salmon salad

 sashimi

Smoked salmon with rice

Temaki

Miso soup taste so good on a cold night

Price is very reasonable with the quality and quantity of food that you can get.

Only 1 thing that I don't like is the red clam sashimi, maybe 1 day I might learn to enjoy it, who knows.

This place is a walking distance from our place, Empire Hotel, Wan Chai.

Empire Hotel, Wan Chai, Hong Kong

My room was on the 20th floor for the building.

This is the view from my window.  Not bad huh..

The room is clean.
The bathroom is a bit small but equipped with a small bathtub.

The lobby is a bit dark.

Breakfast is great.

Other notes:
  • Walking distance to/from MTR
  • Clean n safe surrounding
  • Many pubs at night
  • Tourism Malaysia and MAS Office nearby
  • Not a shopping area, just 7-eleven is conveniently located across the street
  • Few cafes and restaurants within walking distance but I didn't see any street food

GST

Semua orang cakap pasal GST, saya pun nak cakap pasal GST.

Gue nak jimat tapi strategy tak menjadi da...

Hong Kong Dollar

I find that the Hong Kong Dollars can be quite confusing for 1st timer like me.

Take these HKD100 for example, there are four different version here; they might be other versions but these are the only HKD100 that I brought back with me.

For HKD10, that is even worst, the colors are slightly different from one another.

I don't use much cash during my 5 days there, most of the shopping I just use credit card. I only pay cash on food and street shopping in Mongkok.

For credit card, the bank informed me that they will charge extra 1% percent for usage oversea; but I haven't check my bills yet.

Insurgent (2015)

This month, not many movies that we can enjoy as family.  Many great movies like Chappie, Kingsman and Run All Night are all rated as 18.

So yesterday we end up watching Insurgent, Insurgent is the sequel for Divergent (2014).
We enjoyed it, except Eugene, he doesn't really fancy this movie ever-since the 1st one.
This time, I think the heroin expression is getting better; Stiff is not that stiff anymore.
Hoping to catch the final part Allegiant next year.
